Montauk Bistro in Draper offers a casual yet thoughtfully curated dining experience that blends New American and Asian influences with a local touch. This spot feels like a neighborhood place where the owner is genuinely involved, both in the kitchen and front of house, creating a warm, approachable atmosphere that suits relaxed lunches, brunches, or early dinners.

The menu showcases familiar favorites with a twist — dishes like pho with rare sirloin, pot stickers, and pad Thai sit comfortably alongside hearty American-style sandwiches such as the rib eye burger and ham & French cheese baguette. The food leans toward fresh, homemade preparations with an emphasis on balance; for example, the lettuce wraps come off as bright and refreshing, offering a nice counterpoint to richer plates. Sweet options like mango sticky rice provide a simple, well-executed dessert finish that complements the main dishes without overwhelming.

Montauk Bistro works well for small groups or solo diners who appreciate a quieter, unpretentious environment. It's not about flashy dining but rather about comforting, authentic flavors served with straightforward hospitality. The setting recalls the feel of small European bistros, where the kitchen’s personality permeates the room and conversation flows easily.

Since alcohol isn’t available here—a factor that reflects local regulations rather than choice—the emphasis is on quality food and drink alternatives like housemade chai or Thai tea lattes, and solid coffee offerings to round out the experience. Midday visits or early evenings during the week bring out a steady local crowd, including couples and friends looking for something a bit different from typical American or Asian chains nearby.

Overall, Montauk Bistro is a spot to drop into when you want thoughtfully prepared, international flavors without pretense, paired with a welcoming vibe that feels familiar and unhurried.

Simply delicious! The rib eye burger and beef pho are both incredibly rich but not overbearing, the lettuce wraps are fresh and bright, and the mango sticky rice is absolutely perfect. The only downside is that they aren't currently serving alcohol but that's just a general Utah problem, this place rules and I'll be excited to return!

My husband and I loved this charming little bistro. It reminded us a lot of small bistros in Europe. We were the first ones in tonight and the chef/owner was so kind and she explained the menu and her favorites. Her husband also helps out. Appetizers: Lettuce Wrap & Steamed dumplings (not pictured because we inhaled them) both were delicious but the dumplings were my favorite. Husband ordered the Bahn Mi which he loved. I enjoyed my French Dip, I really liked dipping it into the Pho broth. They use Stoneground Bread for their sandwiches which takes it over the top! Whatever vinaigrette is on the salads…it’s phenomenal. Don’t skip out on dessert because the mangy sticky rice was delicious and warm. We will definitely be back!

You could tell everything was homemade and of good quality. There were four of us and we all had something different. Lettuce wraps, masseman curry, sloppy chicken and French dip.The owner cooks and serves. It seems to me that she does it all with love. You feel very welcomed. I will definitely be back.

Fresh food and amazing service. Our table got pad Thai, Massaman curry, and panang curry. All were amazing but the Panang curry and pad Thai were our favorites. Would recommend this place if you want a healthier lighter meal.

We were warmly greeted and seated promptly. Although this place serves Vietnamese (similar) dishes and a couple of American entrees (burger) the food was decent and we felt satiated. We had the lettuce wraps, banh mi sandwich (bread was not as soft as I’d expected, but had more crunch). The burger was actually good and flavorful! Don’t have expectations in experiencing authentic Vietnamese entrees, as the owner is from Laos ???????? and although they have similar dishes to Vietnamese, not quite the same. The restaurant seemed a tad run down. Place could use a good wipe down cleaning. But overall happy to support a mom and pop shop!
